A typical DIY offgrid system can be fantastic for running a cabin or RV. But if you wish to also be connected to grid, and/or backfeed the grid with excess power that your system creates, you need to spend some money and get the right product for the job. You will need a UL listed device that can do everything. Currently, there is only one device on the market that does this. You can pass inspection with this unit virtually anywhere on earth, and it is very powerful.
You need to hire an electrician to install it. They will ground it properly, connect the solar array to code, and create a code compliant connection to grid. I do not recommend people attempt this on their own. The offgrid inverters are fun and great for DIY folks, but the moment you touch the grid, things change. And you need to hire a professional.
Expensive, but very easy to use!
Just buy the unit online and hire an electrician to install it. That is it. This unit can do grid tie only, offgrid and net zero export. And sol ark will set it up for you remotely. The cost is justified if you want something that will last for decades and have zero issues.

New Kid on the Block: EG4 18KPV
Want the same features of the Sol Ark 15K but for a lower cost? Check out the EG4 18KPV. This unit is what I am running in my shop, and I love it!
The 18KPV is designed to work with the EG4 Powerpro Battery. This battery is a better value than server rack batteries! And they look a lot better and have more features including bus bar and quick connects, communications and 8,000 charge cycling rating.
The 18KPV has grid interactive features and is code compliant in all 50 states.
